Multi-feeder

This multifeeder has two trays for feeding sugar syrup.  Each tray holds about 6 pints of syrup.  The trays are sealed at the joints with silcone and then sealed with melted beeswax for added protection. The corrugated plastic trays act as a floating raft for the bees, greatly reducing drowning problems so often associated with liquid feeding. 

 

For winter feeding, getting the food close to the cluster is crucial.  The multifeeder's center tray allows you to feed right above the cluster with dry foods such as Drivert sugar, superfine sugar, pollen powder, and pollen patties. And if you are really into dry feeding, the side trays can also be used for dry food.

 

In damp climates, liquid feeding can greatly increase moisture in the hive.  To reduce this moisture, the multifeeder has three vent holes on either side of center.  These holes are screened with 1/8" mesh.
